Wow!  The coolest thing I’ve seen all day.  I was looking at Tech TV’s Screensavers site when I stumbled upon this odd little invention.  Take a look at the QRIO.  The homepage is here.  Really really cool stuff.  I’m sure it costs a lot, though.  The video clips are very impressive as well!  The robot can run, walk, jump, recover from falls, grab objects, throw, respond to changes in the floor, respond to outer forces such as resistance from a finger, and it can “communicate” with humans.  Again, wow!

Sony has also made a new AIBO.  Really cool robotic dogs.  I’m wondering what this new one can do.  I remember the last model that I took a look at could run when excited, respond to human voice commands, take pictures, and it could be used with new software via Sony MemorySticks.  Too bad all of these toys are just so expensive.

News concerning the troops in Iraq here.
