The Abide Guide

I don’t know what prompted me to search for this phrase on Google today, but suffice it to say my mind has been blown. I recently watched Fargo, checking off another movie from my great list of great movies to watch, so imagine my surprise when I discover that the Coen brothers directed The Big Lebowski. Who would have thunk it.

Anyways, this book has been lurking around in my conscience for the better part of a year now. I first spied it while checking out the local spots about West Campus in Austin, TX, and I loved the book cover, so I snapped a photo of it.

(picture Lebowski sitting on a stool composed of metal briefcase atop a bowling ball bag, his legs crossed at the ankles, White Russian in one hand, and bowling ball in the other, with a single bottle a piece of Kahlua, vodka, and half and half, all resting on top of the rug [which bears no traces of urine])

If you’re looking for a preview of the book, Google is your friend as always, and I’m your friend for linking you directly to the Preview of The Abide Guide on Google Books.

And the surprises just don’t stop — it looks like Amazon is doing this thing, too. Anyways, you can click on the cover image and look inside the book on, or buy the book if you like it, because supporting those who produce original content is encouraged. Pick up or simply preview The Abide Guide: Living Like Lebowski on

P.S. If you haven’t watched The Big Lebowski yet, watch it online or something. This will help.
