Streaming to Twitch.tv thru PC: Capture Cards & Software

Want overlays for your console gaming? To go above and beyond the functionality within the Twitch app for your Xbox One or Playstation 4, you have to stream from your PC through a capture card. These cards are able to capture and encode video simultaneously for live streaming or recording. Portable capture cards predominantly interface with the PC through USB 2.0, though newer models have support for USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt.

I’ve already selected my capture card, the AVerMedia C985 Live Gamer HD. You will find it, along with other suitable options for capturing your gameplay, below.
